Two Selections by Nelson Mandela
First, Nelson Mandela's statement at his trial where he was sentenced for organizing with the African National Congress (A CIA officer later bragged that the agency had tipped off the South African Intelligence Service). He spent the next 26 years in prison. His release, one demand of the intense international campaign against South African Apartheid, was won in 1990. The second statement here is his speech given at his release. He later served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
