Pierre Jonckheer has accused the rapporteur on the returns directive of ignoring European Parliament's amendments to the text of the EU Returns Directive.

"What is the point of having the codecision procedure if the rapporteur is going to ignore the original draft text voted on by the civil liberties committee and negotiate changes directly with the council?
